Sleep data is health data. Tidal Sleep is built so we never see it. This page explains exactly what happens to it, in plain English.
You do not sign up. There is no Tidal Sleep server holding a profile about you.
Sessions, sleep history, your dream journal and settings are stored on your iPhone and Apple Watch, protected by your device passcode. Dream journal voice notes are transcribed on device.
If you allow it, the app reads sleep stages, heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate and wrist temperature from Apple Health, and can save mindful minutes back. You choose each type in Apple’s own permission screen and can change it any time in Settings.
No advertising, no analytics SDKs, no selling or sharing of data. Apple may send us anonymous crash reports if you have opted in on your device.
When we add direct links, you will sign in on Oura’s or WHOOP’s own page and choose what to share. Oura and WHOOP require the login keys to be held on a server, so ours will run in a UK data centre and store only those keys, encrypted. Your sleep data will be passed straight to your phone and not kept on our server. You can disconnect at any time in the app, or from your Oura or WHOOP account, and we delete the keys. This section will be updated with full details before the feature launches.
This site sets no cookies for visitors and loads nothing from other companies: fonts, scripts and images are all served from tidalsleep.app. The sea sounds on the home page are generated in your browser. Our web host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security, and these are deleted automatically.
Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Because the app keeps your data on your device, deleting the app deletes it. For anything else, email support@tidalsleep.app. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Tidal Sleep is made by Mason Technologies Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, which is the data controller for anything you send us by email. Last updated: November 2026.
